This is where to find all of the hidden grottos in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Even If you’ve played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time multiple times since its release in 1998, there may still be many things in the game that you haven’t discovered. The game has numerous secrets that are difficult to find without help from a guide or a friend. For instance, there are hidden grottos spread throughout Hyrule, some of which are easy to find, while others are much more difficult. This guide will assist you in locating all 33 grottos within the game and provide instructions on how to access them.

Kokiri Forest
In Kokiri Forest, next to the entrance to the Lost Woods, there is a gossip stone. Stand in front of the Gossip Stone and play Song of Storms. A grotto entrance will appear. You will find a small chest inside.
Lost Woods #1
In Lost Woods, right next to the entrance leading to the Secret Forest Meadow, there is a boulder blocking the entrance to a hidden grotto. Break the boulder with the help of explosives or the Megaton Hammer. There are two business Scrubs inside. One of them is selling a “Mysterious Item.”
Lost Woods #2
There is a boulder in Lost Woods next to the entrance to Goron City. Break the boulder with explosives or the Megaton Hammer to reveal a grotto entrance. Inside the grotto, there is a small chest.
Lost Woods #3
In Lost Woods, where there are two business scrubs. Walk to the other side of the room into the tall grass. There is a hidden grotto entrance in the grass. To find the entrance, locate the butterflies that are flying over it. The Forest Stage/Deku Theater is inside.
Secret Forest Meadow #1
At the entrance to the Secret Forest Meadow, where you fight a single Wolfo to open the gates to the maze, there is a hidden grotto entrance. Use an explosive in the middle to reveal the entrance. Inside are 2 Wolfos that you must defeat to spawn a chest.
Secret Forest Meadow #2
At the end of the maze in the Secret Forest Meadow, you will find a ladder leading to the top of the maze. Walk straight and you will find a pit with a grotto entrance at the bottom. There is a fairy fountain inside.
Secret Forest Meadow #3
Outside of the Forest Temple, in the southeastern corner of the area, play Song of Storms to reveal a secret grotto. The hidden grotto contains two business scrubs.
Hyrule Field #1
On your way from Kokiri Forest to Lake Hylia, there is a boulder in between a couple of trees. Break the boulder with explosíves or the Megaton Hammer to reveal a secret grotto. There is a small chest inside.
Hyrule Field #2
Next to the tree outside the entrance to Lake Hylia, there is an open grotto with a small chest inside.
Hyrule Field #3
In the middle of the fences, right outside of Lake Hylia, there is a secret grotto. Use explosives or the Megaton Hammer to reveal the entrance. Inside is a single business scrub selling a “mysterious item.”
Hyrule Field #4
Before entering Gerudo Valley, take a right out on the ledge, where you will find a circular stone formation. As an adult there will be a boulder in the middle, that you first need to break with the help of the Megaton Hammer. Use an explosive or Megaton Hammer on the ground in the middle of the stone formation to reveal the hidden grotto. Inside, there is a cow and a Golden Skulltula.
Hyrule Field #5
Before entering Castle Town, take a left, and you will see some trees and a boulder. Break the boulder with the help of explosives or the Megaton Hammer to reveal a secret grotto entrance. There is a small chest inside.
Hyrule Field #6
Next to the road leading to Gerudo Valley from Castle Town is a tree with a secret grotto underneath. Use explosives or the Megaton Hammer beside the tree to reveal the entrance. Inside is a pool of water with a Heart Piece at the bottom. You will need the Iron Boots or the Golden Scale to reach the Heart Piece.
Hyrule Field #7
Once you’ve passed over the bridge leading to Kakariko Village from Castle Town, there is a single tree on the left, close to the castle walls. Use explosives or the Megaton Hammer next to the tree to reveal a hidden grotto. There is a Golden Skulltula hidden inside.
Hyrule Field #8
In the northwestern corner of Hyrule Field, on the other side of the river, there is a boulder. Break the boulder to reveal a grotto entrance. There is a fairy fountain inside.
Hyrule Castle
Outside of Hyrule Castle as a child, in the corner of the fence where there is a single tree. Play Song of Storms to open a hidden grotto. Inside, there is a Golden Skulltula.
Kakariko Village #1
In Kakariko Village, on the other side of the wooden fence. There is an open grotto with a small chest inside. As a child, you must grab a Cuccoo and fly over the fence to reach the grotto. As an adult, you can reach the other side of the fence by exiting the potion shop through the backdoor.
Kakariko Village #2
When you first enter Kakariko Village, walk past the tree. There is a hidden grotto in the middle between the first building and the tree. Use an explosive at the right spot or the Megaton Hammer to find the entrance. Inside you will find two Redeads. Defeat them to spawn a small chest.
Lon Lon Ranch
Lon Lon Ranch has an open grotto in the southeastern corner. You will find three business scrubs inside.
Lake Hylia
Take the bridge to one of the small islands at Lake Hylia. On the island with a tombstone, push the tombstone to reveal an entrance. There are three business scrubs inside. If Kaepora Gaebora is on top of one of the graves, you will need to talk to him first to make him move out of the way.
Death Mountain Trail #1
Outside the Goron City entrance is a hidden grotto in the middle of the circular stone formation. Play Song of Storms on your ocarina to reveal the entrance. There is a small chest inside.
Death Mountain Trail #2
Above the entrance to Goron City there is a grotto entrance hidden underneath a boulder. Break the boulders blocking the path up the mountain, then break the boulder on the top of the ledge. Inside, there is a cow. Play Eponas Song to it to get a bottle of milk.
Death Mountain Crater #1
Once you’ve entered Death Mountain Crater from the top of Death Mountain, walk straight, and you will see a boulder surrounded by smaller rocks. Break the boulder to find a hidden grotto entrance. There is a small chest inside.
Death Mountain Crater #2
When entering Death Mountain Crater from the hidden passage in Goron City, there is a boulder directly to the left. Break it with the Megaton Hammer to find a grotto. Inside, there are three business scrubs.
Goron City
In the northeastern part of Goron City, there is a lava pool with a grotto on the other side. To cross the lava pool, you must play Song of Time to spawn a time block in the middle of the lava and then use the Longshot while standing on top of it. You can also use Nayrus Love to prevent damage taken from the lava and use the Hookshot once you’re close enough. There are three business scrubs inside the grotto.
Zora’s River #1
At the beginning of Zora’s River, stand in the circular stone formation and play Song of Storms to open up a secret grotto with two business scrubs inside.
Zora’s River #2
Get on top of the hill by climbing the ladder next to the small stream of water. As a child, you must fly to the ladder with a Cuccoo. Once you’re at the top, jump across the gap to reach the entrance. There is a small chest inside the grotto.
Zora’s River #3
Repeat the steps of the previous grotto, but look to your right once you’ve climbed the ladder. There is a boulder surrounded by smaller rocks. Break it to reveal a grotto leading to a fairy fountain.
Zora’s Domain
Inside the Zora’s Domain, jump into the water, get on the small island, and play Song of Storms next to the Zora standing there. A secret entrance will appear leading to a fairy fountain.
Gerudo Valley #1
To the left of the bridge leading over the valley is a ledge with a silver rock on it. Jump down to it and use the Silver Gauntlets to find a hidden grotto. There is an Octorok and some rupees inside.
Gerudo Valley #2
Behind the carpenters tent, play Song of Storms to reveal an hidden grotto. There are two business scrubs inside.
Gerudo Fortress
Outside the Gerudo Fortress, in the little area with wooden crates to hide behind, you can play Song of Storms to open a grotto. Inside you the grotto you will find a fairy fountain.
Desert Colossus
At the Desert Colussus, next to the warp-platform you will see a silver boulder. Grab it with the help of the Silver Gauntlets to reveal the entrance to a secret grotto. There are two business scrubs inside.
